Overview

A Senior Paralegal position is available reporting directly to an Associate General Counsel or Assistant General Counsel. This role requires extensive knowledge and experience in litigation, personal injury, real estate, and commercial transactions. The Senior Paralegal will also support attorneys in various other legal areas, contributing to a fast-paced, deadline-driven legal environment. Experience with marketing and advertising law, including FTC regulations, is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in-house counsel with managing legal issues efficiently, including conducting legal research and gathering information across business units.
  • Manage personal injury claims by collecting facts and evidence, reviewing incident reports and medical records, coordinating with insurers and outside counsel, and handling claim files and litigation calendars.
  • Prepare and respond to discovery requests, draft routine legal documents and settlement materials, and ensure compliance with internal reporting and risk management procedures.
  • Oversee drafting of real estate transactions, primarily lease documents such as renewal letters, memoranda of lease, lease amendments, estoppel certificates, and subordination and nondisturbance agreements, under the supervision of a Real Estate Attorney.
  • Manage disputes related to leases, property damage, construction, zoning, and landlord-tenant issues by reviewing relevant documents and coordinating with internal stakeholders, landlords, property managers, and outside counsel.
  • Communicate regularly with internal business counterparts to provide legal counsel, investigate factual claims, and resolve legal issues and disputes.
  • Manage and track critical contractual documents, tasks, timelines, and deadlines using tools such as Smartsheet.
  • Handle legal document management systems and other assigned projects.
  • Participate in training new legal department staff and provide training on new technologies or processes as needed.
  • Assist with retaining, managing, and coordinating with outside counsel, including tracking case deadlines and budgets.

Education & Credentials

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Notary Public and/or Remote Online Notary Public (required)
  • State Bar or ABA-approved paralegal certification (preferred)

Experience

  • Minimum 7 years of related paralegal experience
  • At least 3 years in a law firm or corporate legal department
  • Substantive experience in litigation (including personal injury and real estate), real estate transactions, and commercial transactions
  • Experience with marketing and advertising compliance, including FTC regulations, is a plus

Technical Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Experience with DocuSign, UPS online account tools
  • Skilled in Adobe Acrobat Pro, Foxit PDF Editor
  • Familiarity with Smartsheet
  • Experience with electronic legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw)
  • Knowledge of case management/e-billing software (e.g., Legal Tracker/Serengeti)
  • Experience with real estate management software (e.g., Tririga)
  • Familiarity with legal document management systems

Location

This position does not currently require relocation. Candidates within a reasonable commuting distance of the Boca Raton headquarters may be required to work on a hybrid schedule.
