Overview
This role provides advanced paralegal support with minimal supervision from an attorney, coordinating legal services on complex and/or high-value matters for assigned business units or projects. Responsibilities include ensuring transactions and activities are legally sound and consistent with the organization’s mission, authority, policies, and procedures, while applying advanced legal concepts and risk management practices.
Responsibilities
- Support and coordinate legal services on complex and/or high-value matters for assigned business units or projects.
- Review, draft, negotiate, and manage a wide range of commercial agreements, including:
- Vendor agreements
- Consulting agreements
- Technology and services agreements
- Confidentiality agreements
- Other related commercial contracts
- Serve as a key point of contact for contract intake.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to gather requirements, identify risks, and facilitate timely contract review and execution.
- Use established templates, playbooks, and negotiation guidance to support contracting activities.
- Articulate relevant legal concepts and internal policies/procedures to others.
- Maintain contract templates, clause libraries, playbooks, and other contracting resources.
- Support administration of contract management systems and related technologies.
- Track contract metrics and monitor workflow performance.
- Identify opportunities to improve contracting efficiency and workflow.
- Coordinate activities related to the organization’s trademark and service mark portfolio.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of combined legal and administrative experience OR equivalent qualifications acquired through coursework and/or related job experience that demonstrates assumption of significant responsibilities for supporting and coordinating complex or specialized legal work.
- Legal experience with contract review and/or contracts administration.
- Experience conducting research on the Internet and in other legal resources.
- Experience with MS Office and enterprise file management solutions such as SharePoint or iManage, and other relevant technology.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Communication, critical thinking, and writing skills, including experience editing and drafting legal documents.
- Experience in project and/or process management for efficient workflow.
Preferred Qualifications
- Multi-lingual skills and multi-cultural experience appreciated.
- Experience tracking Trademarks portfolio(s).
- Experience reviewing technology and data processing agreements.
Compensation & Benefits
- Hourly position with a 35-hour work week.
- Starting pay range generally within $50,000 - $80,000.
- This range applies only to candidates whose country of employment is the USA.
- Final pay placement within the range will be based on factors including location, qualifications, specific skills, and experience. Geographic location will be confirmed during recruitment.
