Overview
A global leader in automotive and industrial solutions is seeking a Senior Paralegal to provide advanced legal and operational support within the Employment Law and Litigation function. This role supports employee relations, litigation, and insured claim activities, working closely with Senior Counsel and cross-functional teams.
The position is based at the corporate headquarters in Lexington, KY, with a preference for local candidates willing to work onsite three days per week. Remote candidates located in central or northern Kentucky will also be considered.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal support and advisory coordination on employment matters including employee relations, policy interpretation, accommodations, performance management, and terminations.
- Collaborate with Human Resources and business leaders to gather facts, organize documentation, and ensure timely legal review.
- Draft, review, and manage employment-related documents such as separation agreements, offer letters, policy updates, and internal communications.
- Assist in maintaining and updating employment policies, handbooks, and compliance materials.
- Support compliance initiatives, audits, and reporting related to employment law obligations.
- Coordinate and track training efforts related to workplace conduct, investigations, and legal compliance.
- Support employment-related litigation, claims, and agency matters including document collection, discovery coordination, and case tracking.
- Liaise with outside counsel to facilitate information flow, manage documentation, and support case strategy.
- Conduct complex legal research and analysis.
- Monitor litigation deadlines, maintain calendars, and assist in preparing materials for hearings, mediations, or settlements.
- Manage claims administration by liaising with insurance brokers, third-party administrators, claimants, and policy holders.
- Analyze, manage, and track Worker’s Compensation, general liability, and auto liability claims.
- Participate in claim negotiations and settlements following claims handling procedures.
- Manage the Legal department’s e-billing software, including initiating billing information, reviewing invoices, tracking payments, and compiling reports.
- Support process improvements to enhance efficiency, documentation standards, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Maintain organized, secure, and audit-ready legal records.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies, Legal Studies, or a related field.
- 6–10 years of paralegal experience, preferably with employment law or litigation support, including worker’s compensation, general liability, and auto liability claims.
- Experience supporting claims administration, litigation, employment disputes, or HR/legal functions.
- Strong understanding of employment law processes and documentation such as EEOC responses, investigation protocols, and employment agreements.
- Ability to handle highly sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple complex matters simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with HR, legal teams, and business stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with legal matter management software.
- Ability to travel up to 5–10%.
Preferred Qualifications
- Paralegal certification.
- Experience with document management systems such as Riskonnect, OpenText, and Legal Tracker.

- Salary range: $78,300 - $100,000.
