Overview
This role is for a Senior Specialist Legal Editor focused on Capital Markets & Corporate Governance with a specialization in startups. The position requires an experienced capital markets lawyer with significant experience advising startups to join a legal editorial team in the United States.
Responsibilities
- Research, draft, and maintain clear, current, and practical legal know-how content addressing the needs of startup companies.
- Ensure content aligns with market practice, customer needs, and business objectives using various tools and content development methods.
- Monitor legal, practice, and market developments impacting startups to keep skills and content relevant and accurate.
- Support the development of AI-powered legal tools by applying legal expertise and identifying methods that integrate content development with AI-driven solutions.
- Collaborate with Product Management to innovate technology development, product enhancements, and AI integration.
- Support the development and application of internal AI editorial tools using legal expertise and writing skills.
- Establish and maintain relationships with external law firm contributors and industry groups to ensure content reflects market practice.
- Assist sales, marketing, and other business units, including responding to customer inquiries.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree required.
- Minimum of eight (8) years of experience as a lawyer in a law firm or in-house, with significant experience working with startup companies.
- Strong technical skills, including effective use of generative AI technologies to enhance productivity and accuracy.
- Adaptability and flexibility to work on diverse projects within the generative AI space and emerging technologies.
- Deep curiosity about the intersection of AI and legal practice, with a desire to develop legal prompt engineering skills and innovative content development methods.
- Understanding of current market issues and legislative proposals affecting U.S. startups.
- Knowledge of the needs and priorities of law firm attorneys, in-house counsel, and startup professionals.
- Excellent writing skills with the ability to communicate complex legal issues clearly and concisely in plain English.
- Innovative and agile thinker with strong time management, organizational, and project management skills.
- Enthusiasm for working in a dynamic editorial team environment with rapid change and a passion for AI-driven editorial content creation.
Candidates selected for a second interview will be required to submit a writing sample.
Location
This role can be performed remotely from a home office anywhere in the United States if the candidate does not live near an office location.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range: $119,700 USD - $222,300 USD, depending on knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity.
