Overview
This role supports the legal team in managing commercial contracts, litigation matters, and intellectual property for a consumer technology company with a remote-first work environment. The position reports to the Deputy General Counsel for Commercial, Litigation, and Intellectual Property and requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle a high volume of requests collaboratively.
Responsibilities
Commercial Contracting:
- Manage NDAs including negotiation, redlining, and processing through signature
- Support commercial contracting activities across sales, procurement, and business development
- Maintain version control, manage contract signature and archiving processes
- Track contract renewals and extensions
- Serve as the legal team’s expert on procurement and sales CRM platforms
- Manage and update online Terms of Service
- Maintain templates and commercial playbooks
- Draft and manage contract terminations and correspondence
- Track contract metrics and proofread contracts as needed
Litigation Support:
- Create and manage docket and case files with proper naming conventions
- Receive and triage incoming legal notifications and emails
- Support response processes for law enforcement requests
- Assist with legal escalations from Customer Support
- Help with document collection and discovery processes
Intellectual Property:
- Manage docket and files for the company’s worldwide IP portfolio
- Support brand protection efforts and maintain related templates
- Manage the company’s DMCA compliance program
Requirements
- Must reside in the Pacific Time Zone
- Bachelor’s degree in business, pre-law, or related field
- Minimum 4 years of paralegal experience, including at least 1 year in-house at a consumer technology company
- Significant hands-on experience with contract management processes and tools for redlining, e-signature, and archiving
- Preferred experience with contract lifecycle management (CLM) and customer relationship management (CRM) tools
- Familiarity with litigation processes and docketing preferred
- Experience creating processes and templates for handling common legal issues, such as customer support escalations, is a plus
- Experience with AI tools is advantageous
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage a large volume of requests while maintaining collaboration
- Proactive, solutions-oriented, and business-friendly mindset
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
