Overview
This role is a Senior Trial Attorney position within a national trial division specializing in commercial and personal lines insurance litigation. The position is fully remote, covering locations in Buffalo, Syracuse, Rochester, and Albany, New York, with frequent travel to venues in Buffalo and Rochester.
Responsibilities
- Serve as lead counsel in civil litigation involving property and casualty insurance defense or subrogation.
- Provide strategic case valuations and timely updates to clients and claims teams.
- Apply advanced trial advocacy skills while staying current with evolving laws and technology.
- Mentor junior attorneys and promote collaboration within the trial division.
- Manage cases proactively with a strong work ethic and excellent communication.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
- Minimum of 8 years of civil litigation experience in property and casualty insurance defense or subrogation.
- Active New York State law license.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and legal research skills.
- Ability to adapt to changes in law and technology.
- Highly collaborative and well-organized.
Preferred Experience
- Bodily Injury / Personal Injury (Auto) cases.
- Personal Lines and Commercial Lines Insurance Defense.
- First-Party Medical / PIP / New York No-Fault claims.
- Conducting Examinations Under Oath for claimants and medical providers.
- Handling multi-claim investigations, including Third-Party Bodily Injury and Uninsured/Underinsured claims.
Compensation & Benefits
- National salary range: $124,000 to $238,000 annually.
- Expected starting salary range: $134,000 to $202,000 annually.
