Overview
A nationally recognized AmLaw 100 law firm specializing in product liability and mass tort litigation is seeking an experienced and strategic Staff Attorney. This role supports the litigation practice with a focus on defending cases involving personal injury, consumer health products, and other consumer goods. The ideal candidate will possess strong eDiscovery skills, excellent judgment, the ability to independently manage deadlines and assignments, and collaborate effectively in a fast-paced law firm environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist litigation teams with eDiscovery and related projects, including written discovery, in large MDLs, class actions, and mass torts
- Manage and execute eDiscovery workflows across matters, including identification, preservation, collection, processing, review, and production of electronically stored information (ESI)
- Conduct responsiveness and privilege analysis, create and run searches and analytical queries, manage coding, and assist with production
- Perform second-level document review for relevance, privilege, confidentiality, and key issues
- Collaborate with case teams to develop and execute review strategies, including use of analytics and technology-assisted review (TAR)
- Assist in preparing draft responses to discovery-related documents such as requests for production and confidentiality challenges
- Prepare privilege logs and redactions
- Support deposition and trial preparation by identifying and organizing key documents
- Prepare fact summaries, case chronologies, and case analyses to support motions, hearings, and trial strategy
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school and admission in good standing with the State Bar
- Minimum of 2+ years of litigation experience in eDiscovery, litigation support, or complex litigation
- Experience with personal injury, product liability, and mass tort litigation preferred; candidates with medical malpractice or commercial litigation experience will also be considered
- Proficiency with leading eDiscovery platforms such as Relativity, Everlaw, Disco, or similar
- Familiarity with technology-assisted review (TAR), analytics tools, and data visualization techniques is a plus
- Effective communication skills with excellent project management and attention to detail
- Proactive and collaborative mindset with strong ownership, accountability, and innovation
- Strong organizational skills and analytical ability, capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Hours and Work Arrangement
- Full-time position
- Work location flexible: in-office, hybrid, or 100% remote based on candidate preference
