Overview

This role involves providing trial support and legal assistance under the supervision of a senior attorney. Responsibilities include preparing trial documents, attending court hearings, conducting legal research, reviewing medical records, and managing specific case assignments. The position offers an opportunity to gain extensive knowledge of pre-trial litigation, case evaluation, and post-trial procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Support pre-trial litigation from initial file assignment through trial and post-trial procedures.
  • Prepare necessary legal documentation and obtain pertinent defense information.
  • Advise clients and claims personnel on legal issues.
  • Provide legal representation before courts, arbitration panels, or administrative bodies in defense of personal injury lawsuits.
  • Supervise and direct subordinate legal staff such as paralegals, secretaries, transcriptionists, and support specialists to ensure accurate and timely completion of work.

Requirements

  • Law degree and admission to the bar in the practicing state(s).
  • Effective communication, persuasion, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction and strong organizational skills.
  • Willingness to travel by automobile up to 20% of work time.
  • Must meet company standards regarding personal driving history and current license status.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Law degree from a state-accredited or ABA-accredited law school.
  • One or more years as a licensed attorney with insurance defense experience or equivalent.
  • First and second chair trial experience is a plus.
  • Exceptional communication and analytical skills.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: USD $83,670.00 - USD $161,815.00 per year, depending on experience, skills, and location.
