Overview
A leading global analytics software company is seeking a legal professional to join their dynamic and growing legal team. This role involves building strong relationships with internal and external customers, utilizing legal expertise to provide practical advice while achieving business results.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, negotiate, and translate a variety of agreements including sales, service, subcontract, software, procurement, and non-disclosure agreements for assigned internal and external clients.
- Review contract terms such as limitation of liability, intellectual property indemnity, license grants, and warranty, revising them in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Support sales and business teams on opportunities, including assistance with the RFP process and contract terms requiring approval.
- Coordinate contract reviews across business units including product, services, and finance to support clients.
- Assist the legal department with contract template revisions, contract interpretation, and translation as requested.
- Protect the organization from unnecessary contract liabilities, damages, and penalties.
- Identify red flag risk areas and work with business teams to seek appropriate approvals.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor degree.
- Licensed to practice law and in good standing in any jurisdiction.
- Experience in software licensing, preferably within a corporate legal department.
- Strong analytical skills and expertise in contract formation, preparation, drafting, review, management, and negotiation.
- Ability to identify key risk and policy issues in transactional situations.
- Basic understanding of United States software intellectual property law and practices.
Compensation & Benefits
- Targeted base pay range: $116,000 to $182,000, reflecting differences in candidate knowledge, skills, and experience.
