Overview
A legal firm specializing in class and mass actions, individual arbitrations, and multidistrict litigation at both trial and appellate levels is seeking a Workup and Settlement Attorney. The firm handles high-profile mass tort, antitrust, privacy, product liability, employment, and consumer-rights cases, representing hundreds of thousands of clients. This role focuses on preparing cases eligible or soon to be eligible for settlements in large mass torts.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the case management team to evaluate and progress settlement-eligible cases by reviewing notes, medical records, and related documentation.
- Manage client interactions during the settlement offer process, ensuring clear communication and support.
- Coordinate with Case Managers, legal assistants, and other team members to efficiently execute casework.
- Serve as the on-call attorney as part of an elevation rotation approximately every 1-2 weeks.
- Communicate with clients, outside counsel, experts, and vendors to support case resolution.
- Contribute to improving settlement processes for efficiency and consistency.
- Work closely with Partners and Associates on tasks related to assigned cases.
Requirements
- Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in a US State Bar in good standing.
- Three to five years of experience in a high-volume personal injury or plaintiff's firm.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word) and Adobe Acrobat.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to manage time effectively, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise discretion, and demonstrate empathy when dealing with clients.
- Capacity to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Openness to performing unconventional legal work involving intensive interaction with clients and non-lawyer colleagues.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Salesforce or other CRM/case management software.
- Experience reviewing medical records and familiarity with medical terminology, especially related to cancers and related conditions.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual salary range: $100,000 to $120,000, depending on experience.
- Eligibility for a year-end discretionary performance bonus.

- This is a full-time, remote position.
- Note: This is a non-Partner-track role.
