Associate Attorney, Muskegon, Michigan

Overview

The organization is seeking a full-time Associate Attorney to support its consumer protection practice in Michigan. This role is remote with required travel for in-court appearances and communication with the main office exclusively via telephone and electronic means.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and supervise a heavy and diversified caseload for clients in Michigan
• Communicate with clients regarding their respective matters
• Draft pleadings, motions, legal memoranda, and review and draft agreements
• Communicate with opposing parties to resolve or settle claims
• Conduct legal research related to simple and complex issues in contract law and other areas of consumer law

Requirements

• Must be currently admitted to practice law in Michigan
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience at a law firm
• Superior organizational and time-management skills to meet strict deadlines
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills
• Highest ethical standards and professional integrity
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with senior management and employees at all levels
• Strong legal research skills; proficiency in LexisNexis is a plus
• Must be located in or within a commutable distance to Muskegon, MI to be considered
