Associate Attorney, Traverse City, Michigan

Overview

This full-time Associate Attorney position supports a consumer protection practice serving clients in Michigan. While the role is home-based, it includes responsibilities involving communication with the firm’s main office and occasional in-court travel.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and supervise a heavy and diversified caseload for clients in Michigan.
• Communicate with clients regarding their respective matters.
• Draft pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda; review and draft agreements as needed.
• Communicate with opposing parties to resolve and/or settle claims.
• Conduct legal research on simple and complex issues in contract law and other areas of consumer law.
• Travel for in-court appearances while working remotely.
• Communicate with the main office exclusively via telephone and electronic means (e.g., email, Microsoft Teams).

Requirements

• Currently admitted to practice law in Michigan.
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience at a law firm.
• Superior organizational and time-management skills to meet strict deadlines.
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
• Highest ethical standards and professional integrity.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with senior management and employees at all levels.
• Strong legal research skills (proficiency in LexisNexis is a plus).
• Must be located in or within a commutable distance to Traverse City, MI to be considered for this role.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in LexisNexis.

Compensation & Benefits

• Compensation: $90,000 - $100,000 / year.
