Employment Practices Liability Claim Associate

Overview

This role is a remote Specialty Claim Associate position on the Specialty Liability Claims team. The work focuses on challenging Employment Practices Liability (EPL) claims, including sensitive matters involving workplace disputes, discrimination, and harassment allegations.

The position also supports other claims lines, including Miscellaneous Professional Liability, Contractor’s Errors & Omissions, and Cyber Liability.

Responsibilities

• Handle Employment Practices Liability (EPL) claims, including investigating allegations and evaluating liability.
• Perform accurate and timely coverage assessments, including preparing coverage-related letters.
• Conduct liability and damage investigations and evaluate complex EPL insurance policies.
• Establish, document, and execute strategies to achieve early and cost-effective resolution of assigned claims.
• Manage litigation-related claim activities, including managing panel counsel, and adhering to litigation guidelines.
• Review law firm billing and oversee aspects of litigated claims management.
• Build and maintain productive relationships with internal and external customers, including clients, underwriters, and agents.
• Demonstrate sound claim handling practices, ensuring compliance across investigation, coverage, loss assessment, and case management.

Requirements

• College degree required.
• 2+ years of Employment Practices Liability claims and litigated claims management.
• Experience managing panel counsel and litigation guidelines.
• Experience reviewing law firm billing.
• Experience with other claims-made professional/management liability lines, such as:
  • Miscellaneous Professional Liability
  • Contractor’s Errors & Omissions
  • D&O
  • Cyber Liability

Preferred Qualifications

• Law degree preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary range: $80,000 - $115,000
• Plus opportunity for a company bonus based upon a percentage of eligible pay.
