Remote · France · Worldwide Full Time
Est. $140K – $190K/yr

Overview

This role involves providing legal guidance for product and privacy matters, working closely with Product, Tech, and business teams to ensure compliance across product lifecycles—from PRD to launch.

The position is remote-friendly.

Responsibilities

Privacy and AI

  • Run the GDPR program on a centralized, cross-European basis, working closely with the DPO.
  • Manage records of processing, DPIAs, privacy notices, data subject requests, processor agreements, and transfers.
  • Ensure compliance with non-EU privacy laws as international activity expands.
  • Champion privacy by design within product teams by engaging early, asking the right questions, and helping identify workable solutions for both users and the business.
  • Serve as product counsel for Juno alongside Product, including AI Act compliance, transparency obligations, and model and vendor terms.

Consumer and platform rules

  • Maintain terms of use and terms of sale with teams designing offers, including cashback and gift card terms, withdrawal rights, the referral programme, and rules for prize draws and contests.
  • Keep the business compliant with the expectations of the DGCCRF and its equivalents in each new country, including country-specific terms where local law requires them.
  • Own compliance with app store and browser store rules (Apple, Google, Chrome Web Store, Firefox) in collaboration with Security and Product teams.
  • Ensure compliance with affiliate network terms, coordinating with teams managing these partnerships.

Banking and payments regulation

  • Map the regulatory perimeter of each business line and each new market (payment and e-money regimes, gift cards) with teams building them and external specialist counsel.
  • Monitor whether each business line remains within its current status as the product evolves.

Scope

Privacy and AI are the core of the role. Consumer law and platform rules can be learned on the job if they are new to you, with reliance on external counsel when needed.

Requirements

  • 4 to 6 years of experience in data protection, including time in a top-tier law firm or as in-house product or privacy counsel.
  • Experience working with product and tech teams; ability to read a PRD or a data flow and identify issues raised.
  • Close familiarity with AI regulation and prior experience advising on AI products.
  • Experience in consumer law is a plus.
  • CIPP/E or equivalent certification is a plus.
  • Master’s degree in IP/IT law, data protection law or business law from a leading French law school.
  • Admission to the Paris Bar is a plus.
  • Fluent in French and English.
  • Ability to provide clear, actionable answers to non-lawyers and to assess whether a risk is acceptable.
  • Curiosity about AI and interest in learning how to build tools that change legal work.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Top-market compensation.
  • Equity for everyone, with the chance to own a piece of what you build.
  • Half-day each week dedicated to leveling up with AI by exploring new tools, iterating hard, and sharpening skills.
  • Yearly offsite in amazing locations, plus a budget for team-building events and monthly in-person gatherings.
  • Contribution to your ClassPass subscription.
  • 8-week leave paid 100% for the second parent.
  • Other benefits may be available (full list referenced in the original posting).

Location / Work Arrangement

  • Remote-friendly.
  • If you live in Paris: you can choose to work from the office or from home with no constraints.
  • If you live elsewhere: access to a coworking space and a coworking budget may be provided.
  • Work from anywhere: work from most countries in the world for up to 3 months per year.

Hiring Process
