Senior Commercial Counsel, Technology & Privacy

Overview

A Connected TV and Electronics Company is seeking an experienced attorney for a 3-6 month engagement, with potential extension up to one year. This role involves supporting a high-volume contracting environment by reviewing, drafting, and negotiating a broad range of commercial technology agreements. The attorney will provide legal advice on commercial, privacy, and data matters while collaborating closely with business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate various commercial agreements, including:
  • SaaS and software licensing agreements
  • Technology and vendor agreements
  • Data sharing and data licensing agreements
  • Strategic partnership agreements
  • Advertising technology partner agreements
• Provide practical legal advice on commercial, privacy, and data-related issues
• Partner with business, product, sales, privacy, and technology teams
• Manage multiple matters simultaneously in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
• Support both routine commercial transactions and complex strategic initiatives

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience negotiating a broad range of commercial technology agreements
• Strong knowledge of privacy and data-related contracting
• Experience supporting technology, software, or digital businesses
• Ability to manage a high volume of work while balancing competing priorities
• Excellent communication skills with a practical, business-focused approach
• Full-time availability during Pacific Time business hours

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with digital advertising or advertising technology
• Familiarity with connected TV (CTV), streaming platforms, or digital media
• Experience with data licensing, ad tech partners, SSPs, DSPs, insertion orders, or IAB standards
• In-house experience supporting technology, media, or consumer technology companies

Compensation & Schedule

• Hourly rate: $110 - $130 per hour (open to discussion based on experience)
• Full-time schedule (40 hours per week)
• Engagement duration: 3-6 months with potential extension up to one year

Location

• Remote position supporting a Pacific Time-based legal team
• Candidates located in the Los Angeles area interested in hybrid or onsite arrangements are encouraged to apply

Additional Information

• Employment will be through a workforce solutions company on a W-2 basis for the duration of the engagement
• This role requires full-time commitment during Pacific Time business hours
