Senior Toxic Tort Attorney

Overview

A national law firm with over 1,400 attorneys across 46 offices is seeking a Toxic Tort Of Counsel to join their San Francisco office. This role involves representing sophisticated clients in complex toxic tort litigation matters including talc, silicosis, asbestos, and related cases. The position offers a flexible hybrid or remote working arrangement.

Responsibilities

• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, legal memoranda, and other legal documents
• Attend court hearings, depositions, and mediations
• Collaborate with colleagues across departments and offices to support a cohesive team environment
• Independently manage a litigation caseload from inception through resolution
• Communicate with clients and provide regular status updates

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
• Admission to practice law in the state of California
• Minimum of 8 years of toxic tort litigation experience preferred
• Experience with asbestos, talc, silicosis, diacetyl, benzene, or related toxic tort matters preferred
• Proven experience drafting discovery and pretrial motions required
• Experience cross-examining plaintiffs and fact witnesses preferred
• Experience with court appearances, depositions, and trial work is a plus
• Second chair trial experience is a plus
• Strong analytical skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $190,000 to $250,000 USD
