Overview

A remote opportunity is available for a Legal Expert to work as an independent contractor. This role involves contributing legal expertise to AI research projects by drafting and reviewing prompts, evaluating AI-generated legal content, and collaborating with a research coordination team.

Responsibilities

• Draft and review prompts involving legal reasoning, statutory interpretation, case analysis, and procedural workflows.
• Evaluate and revise AI-generated responses to ensure legal accuracy, clarity, and alignment with professional standards.
• Develop variants of prompts based on style, instruction-following, and user personas (e.g., lawyer vs. layperson).
• Identify examples likely to expose failures in model reasoning or content handling.
• Collaborate asynchronously with the research coordination team as needed.

Requirements

• J.D. or equivalent legal degree from a top institution.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience practicing law or in a legal academic/research setting.
• Expertise in one or more areas such as constitutional law, contracts, criminal procedure, or administrative law.
• Exceptional analytical writing skills and familiarity with legal argument structure.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in legal education or content development.

Compensation & Contract Details

• Hourly rate: $80–$100.
• Commitment: 10–20 hours per week.
• Duration: 4+ months.
• Payment is made weekly via Stripe Connect.
• Position classified as an independent contractor.
