Claims Counsel

Overview

This fully remote role involves handling cyber insurance claims, including coverage analysis, investigation, coordination of defense and coverage counsel, and claim disposition. The position also requires strong customer service and clear communication with clients, brokers, insureds, and claimants.

Responsibilities

• Perform coverage analysis and draft claim correspondence/letters.
• Conduct investigations, including incident response and evaluation.
• Assess reserve adequacy and timeliness.
• Maintain claim diaries and related documentation.
• Manage defense and coverage counsel.
• Complete reinsurance reporting.
• Drive claim disposition from investigation through resolution.
• Proactively manage claims and related litigation while delivering high-quality customer service.
• Provide regular updates to customers, brokers, and cross-functional partners.
• Present claims in both written and oral formats.
• Obtain authority and/or formulate appropriate action plans on difficult claims.
• Market claim services and coordinate and participate in customer presentations.

Requirements

• Minimum 2–5 years of claims handling experience.
• 1 year Cyber experience required.
• JD required.
• Must obtain and retain required adjuster licenses.
• Strong skills in coverage, claim evaluation, and negotiation.
• Exceptional organizational and presentation skills.
• Experience working collaboratively in a team environment and across work groups.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Liability experience (plus).

Compensation & Benefits

• Annual base salary range (US): $120,000k–$200,000k (estimate; actual salary may vary based on compensation practices, job-related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications and trainings, and geographic location).
