Counsel (Litigation)

Overview

A litigation counsel position is available to support a direct-to-homeowner solar sales and financing business. The role involves working within a legal team of approximately 20 professionals and reports to a Senior Counsel. The position is based in Irvine, California, with remote work considered for exceptional candidates.

Responsibilities

• Provide litigation support related to attorney demand letters, lawsuits, arbitrations, and regulatory matters including subpoenas for the residential consumer business.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver strategic, business-oriented legal advice.
• Manage consumer dispute resolutions by negotiating settlements directly with opposing counsel.
• Oversee and provide strategic direction to outside counsel on litigation matters.
• Develop and implement plans for offensive litigation to recover defaulted funds.
• Handle other assigned legal matters as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience handling litigation matters in a law firm or in-house legal environment.
• Demonstrated leadership ability and motivation to excel in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to distinguish material issues from non-material ones.
• Proactive approach to completing assignments timely with minimal supervision.
• Membership in at least one state bar.
