English to Finnish - Legal (Judiciary) Translator and /or Editor

Freelance English-to-Finnish Legal Translator and/or Editor (Remote)

This is a remote, freelance/contract role available on an ongoing, as-needed basis.

Responsibilities

• Provide English-to-Finnish legal translation and/or editing services
• Maintain strong legal terminology accuracy and written precision
• Deliver high-quality work remotely
• Meet deadlines on assigned tasks

Requirements

• Minimum of three years of professional experience providing legal translation and/or editing services
• Native-level Finnish and English writing skills
• Demonstrated knowledge of U.S. legal, judicial, and technical terminology in English and Finnish
• Bachelor’s degree in a foreign language, linguistics, translation, or a comparable field
• Experience using computer-assisted translation tools (Trados experience is preferred)
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to meet deadlines

Security and Citizenship Requirements

• Applicants must be U.S. citizens
• Must be willing to complete security clearance processing, including fingerprinting, if selected

Availability

• Generally available between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Eastern Time on most weekdays
• Able to accept on-demand assignments totaling approximately 10 to 15 hours per week, as needed
