Insurance Coverage Litigation Attorneys

Overview

The organization is seeking litigation attorneys for one of its Southern California offices in San Diego, Carlsbad, Orange County, or Los Angeles. Remote work is also an option. Hybrid opportunities may be available.

Ideal candidates have a minimum of 4 years of experience litigating insurance coverage and extra contractual cases.

This role involves complex litigation in both state and federal court and offers opportunities for professional development.

Responsibilities

• Manage litigation matters independently from case strategy through resolution
• Formulate and implement a discovery plan, including taking and defending depositions
• Evaluate potential insurance liability exposures
• Prepare case assessments and evaluations
• Balance time across several matters while producing consistently strong work product
• Handle litigation in matters involving:
  • California first- and third-party property and casualty insurance coverage
  • Professional liability
  • UIM/UM coverage
  • Life, health, and disability matters
  • Bad faith litigation

Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of litigation experience in insurance coverage and extra contractual cases
• Experience with litigation involving California first- and third-party property and casualty insurance coverage, professional liability, UIM/UM coverage, life, health and disability matters, and bad faith litigation
• California Bar Licensure is required
• Strong academic credentials
• Proven skills in writing, research, and litigation
• Self-starter who can manage their own litigation

Compensation & Benefits

Base salary ranges (national):

• Associates (approximately 1–6+ years): $100,000–$165,000
• Senior Counsel/Of Counsel (approximately 5 years or more): $140,000–$215,000
• Partners (approximately 7 years or more): $190,000–$275,000+

Actual compensation is tailored to each individual and may vary based on experience, skills, practice area, business generation, work arrangement, and geographic market.

Pay range: USD $100,000.00 - USD $275,000.00 /Yr.
