Legal Counsel

Overview

A fast-paced technology company is seeking a Legal Counsel to support its growing legal team and business operations. This role involves handling a broad range of legal matters including commercial contracts, regulatory compliance, intellectual property, employment, international issues, and corporate governance. The Legal Counsel will work cross-functionally with teams such as revenue, marketing, HR, finance, engineering, and product, as well as senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal support for corporate and commercial transactions.
• Independently lead contract drafting and negotiations for various commercial contracts and complex legal matters.
• Advise multiple departments including revenue, marketing, People/HR, programs, finance, engineering, and product teams.
• Build and scale the legal function within the organization.
• Support readiness efforts for becoming a public company.
• Assist with preparation and planning for board and committee meetings.
• Oversee global corporate administration, including compliance with international, federal, and state laws.
• Maintain foreign and domestic entities, and manage executive compensation and stock administration.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Admission to and good standing with a state bar.
• 3-5 years of experience at a top law firm; some prior in-house experience preferred.
• Strong multitasking, problem-solving, prioritization, critical thinking, and judgment skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proactive, motivated, and willing to go above and beyond to achieve results.
• Comfortable working cross-functionally and handling new or unfamiliar projects.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $175,000 - $200,000 per year (base salary determined by knowledge, skills, and experience).
