Legal Expert (Train AI Models Part Time!)

Overview

A leading AI research lab is seeking Legal Experts to assist in training advanced AI models focused on rigorous legal reasoning. This role involves evaluating and comparing AI-generated outputs on complex legal problems to help improve how AI systems understand and reason about case law, contracts, and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Compare two AI-generated responses to the same legal prompt and determine which is superior
• Review provided input files and analyze each model's reasoning process to inform evaluations
• Clearly articulate why one output is better, citing legal accuracy, soundness of reasoning, and client-readiness
• Provide detailed written feedback to the research team to guide model improvements
• Participate in onboarding and specialized calibration sessions

Requirements

• J.D., LL.B., LL.M., or equivalent law degree, or comparable professional legal experience
• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience practicing or researching law in settings such as law firms, in-house legal departments, government, or judiciary
• Strong background in legal research and legal writing, including case-law analysis
• Excellent written communication skills with high attention to detail
