  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (including engineering, partnerships, privacy, and security) to deliver pragmatic, actionable legal advice throughout the product development lifecycle—from initial scoping through launch.
  • Draft, review, and update internal and external-facing foundational terms and documents for product and service offerings.
  • Stay current on laws and regulations governing consumer financial data access; analyze legal and regulatory updates and industry trends to proactively advise stakeholders on potential product impacts.
  • Act as a proactive business partner by building trusted advisor relationships and providing key legal and strategic input into evolving product roadmap and strategy.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of demonstrated experience as a qualified lawyer in a top law firm or in-house legal team, working with technology companies (ideally advising on the law that applies to cloud-based API service providers) on legal and regulatory aspects of product development in the technology space.
  • Passion for working with technology and the ability to quickly understand complex operational and business models and multiple product use cases.
  • Self-starter and self-learner who thrives in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple workstreams and priorities efficiently.
  • Owner’s mindset and strong judgment, making principled, business-enabling decisions in highly ambiguous, fast-moving environments with incomplete information.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally under tight timelines while remaining collaborative.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills to manage shifting priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Expertise in the legal, commercial, and regulatory dynamics of AI and tech services, including knowledge of global data privacy regimes (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
  • Strategic thinking that enables business partners to make decisions grounded in practical application of law, technology, and business goals.
