Senior Counsel

Overview

A leading purchase intelligence and incentives platform is seeking a Senior Counsel to join a small, fast-paced Legal and Compliance department. This role reports to the Assistant General Counsel and requires a detail-oriented, intelligent attorney who balances practical thinking with a strategic perspective. The ideal candidate will help protect the organization, support business growth, and facilitate deal-making with a proactive and adaptable approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal support to various business units across the organization, addressing a wide range of legal needs
• Develop and improve processes and procedures to enhance the efficiency and organization of the Legal and Compliance department
• Promote the department’s vision throughout the company, ensuring legal obligations are met and the organization is protected
• Identify and propose solutions to complex legal problems beyond simply recognizing issues
• Navigate evolving data privacy legislation to keep company policies and procedures current and compliant

Requirements

• 3-5 years of legal experience handling complex legal issues
• Experience at a top law firm is preferred, especially with expertise in privacy and cybersecurity
• Ability to review and analyze legal documents ranging from simple sales contracts to multi-million-dollar agreements
• Proven ability to influence decisions at all organizational levels and align stakeholders on common solutions
• Strong understanding of complex business and technical concepts with sound judgment in difficult trade-offs
• Skilled at managing competing business needs and crafting creative solutions that address all stakeholders’ concerns
• Preferred experience in privacy or advertising law
• Effective communication skills with the ability to explain sophisticated legal concepts clearly
• Comfortable working in a macOS and Google Workspace environment; familiarity with or willingness to work on macOS or Windows platforms
