Senior Counsel, Product (Base)

Overview

A leading organization in the Finance & Insurance sector is seeking a Senior Counsel, Product to join their team. This role involves driving significant impact across key initiatives by partnering cross-functionally to deliver measurable outcomes. The position offers the opportunity to influence both strategy and execution within a high-growth environment.

Location: Remote (U.S. based candidates only; no visa sponsorship available)

Compensation: $224,995 – $264,700 annually

Responsibilities

• Establish the legal foundation for the organization’s onchain mission and strategy
• Oversee legal processes related to funding and supporting the grant ecosystem
• Ensure compliance and legal standards for the company’s and third-party products
• Act as a business partner by providing legal advice throughout product development
• Provide comprehensive legal counseling across the product life cycle
• Proactively identify and resolve legal challenges to support product execution
• Collaborate with various departments to deliver strategic legal support

Requirements

• Licensed attorney in a U.S. state with a J.D. or equivalent degree
• Minimum of 5 years of legal experience
• Substantive practice experience in crypto, web3, DeFi, protocols, or blockchain
• Experience counseling product teams on launching consumer or developer-facing technology products
• Strong interest or experience in digital currency and decentralized finance constructs
• Familiarity with legal and regulatory considerations for crypto protocols and onchain products
• Experience with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know-Your-Customer (KYC) requirements
• Proven problem-solving and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of blockchain technology and crypto legal practices
• Understanding of regulatory frameworks related to KYC and AML
• Experience with product life-cycle legal counseling and compliance standards
• Background in financial technology and digital currency
• Familiarity with decentralized finance (DeFi) and smart contracts
• Understanding of Ethereum and Layer 2 protocols
• Experience with risk management tools and legal risk frameworks related to crypto
