Sr. Lead Counsel, Public Sector

Overview

An organization in the technology sector is seeking a Sr. Lead Counsel, Public Sector (Interim) to lead their public sector legal function.

Responsibilities

• Lead the public sector legal function supporting sales, contracting, and compliance needs
• Draft, negotiate, and provide legal advice on a variety of government and commercial agreements, including SaaS, reseller, teaming, subcontract, and services agreements
• Collaborate cross-functionally with business stakeholders to manage legal risk throughout proposal, contracting, and post-award activities

Requirements

• Significant experience with U.S. federal, state, and local government contracts, including FAR and DFARS
• Strong background in commercial contracting and technology transactions within a SaaS or cloud environment
• Excellent judgment, communication, and stakeholder management skills in a fast-paced business environment

Education & Experience

• J.D. degree and active U.S. bar admission
• 7-12+ years of relevant government contracts and commercial legal experience, preferably within technology, cybersecurity, or SaaS organizations
