Title Examiner

Overview

This full-time Title Examiner role supports the Title Department by examining title reports and identifying parties, notice requirements, and title issues for mortgage foreclosure transactions.

Responsibilities

• Examine title reports provided by third-party search vendors for mortgage foreclosure transactions
• Identify necessary Defendants to a judicial mortgage foreclosure action
• Identify parties required to receive notice of a non-judicial foreclosure action
• Identify superior interests, title defects, and title curative issues
• Utilize online search portals for in-house tax and title searches
• Use online tools to plot metes and bounds legal descriptions
• Use online resources to obtain aerial views of the subject property

Requirements

• 3–5 years of title examination experience is required (preferably in the mortgage foreclosure arena)
• Superior organizational and time management skills, with strong attention to detail and efficiency
• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications
• Experience using PDF applications such as Adobe Acrobat and eCopy to markup title reports
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Experience performing paperless title examinations

Preferred Qualifications

• Multi-state examination experience, preferably in some or all of the following states: NJ & PA
