West Coast Labor Management Relations Mid-Level Associate

Overview

The organization is seeking a Labor Management Relations Associate with 2 to 6 years of experience for its West Coast offices. The role is part of the Labor & Employment practice group and involves working on labor and employment matters in collaboration with senior attorneys.

Responsibilities

• Work on litigation and labor-related matters, including:
  • Unfair labor practice charges and grievances in labor arbitration
  • Advising on labor law matters
  • Researching labor law issues
  • Participating in or advising on collective bargaining
• Draft and support briefs and motions
• Conduct case law research
• Manage multiple matters simultaneously (e.g., litigation, charges, bargaining, and research)

Requirements

• 2–6 years of traditional labor law experience, working with or without partner oversight on matters such as:
  • Unfair labor practice charges or grievances in labor arbitration
  • Advising on labor law matters
  • Researching labor law issues
  • Participating in or advising on collective bargaining
• Other expected experience:
  • Case law research
  • Brief and motion drafting
• Excellent academic credentials and a solid work ethic
• Strong analytical skills and strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously (litigation, charges, bargaining, research, etc.)
• Experience and understanding of federal rules (trial or appellate) and NLRB rules are a plus

Preferred Qualifications

• Employment law background and basic familiarity (plus, but not required)
• Admission to the California or Washington Bars, or the ability to waive in

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $235,000 to $350,000
• Pay within the range will be based on factors including relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, and business or organizational needs.
• Eligible for an annual merit increase and bonus pay.
