West Coast Labor Management Relations Mid-Level Associate

Overview

This role is an opportunity for a Labor Management Relations Associate with 2 to 6 years of experience for the organization’s West Coast offices. The position is part of the Labor & Employment practice group.

Responsibilities

• Work on labor and employment matters in collaboration with senior attorneys, including:
  • Litigation of unfair labor practice charges and/or grievances in labor arbitration
  • Advising on labor law matters
  • Researching labor law issues
  • Participating in or advising on collective bargaining
  • Case law research
  • Drafting briefs and motions
• Manage multiple matters simultaneously (e.g., litigation, charges, bargaining, research).

Requirements

• 2–6 years of traditional labor law experience, with experience gained working with or without partner oversight in areas such as:
  • Litigation of unfair labor practice charges or grievances in labor arbitration
  • Advising on labor law matters
  • Case law research
  • Participating in or advising on collective bargaining
  • Researching labor law issues
• Excellent academic credentials and solid work ethic
• Stellar analytical skills and strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously
• Experience and understanding of federal rules (trial or appellate)
• Experience and understanding of NLRB rules is a plus

Preferred Qualifications

• Employment law background and basic familiarity (preferred, but not required)
• Admission to the California or Washington Bar, or the ability to waive in

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $235,000 to $350,000
• Pay within the salary range will be based on factors including relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, and business or organizational needs
