Associate Attorney, Indiana

Location: Remote (based in Indiana; candidates must be within commutable distance or currently located in Indiana)

Compensation: $90,000 / year

This role supports consumers who have been harassed or otherwise deceived by creditors and debt collectors. The organization is seeking a full-time Associate Attorney to handle a heavy and diversified caseload in Indiana. Although work is performed remotely, the position involves communicating with the main office exclusively via telephone and electronic means.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and supervise a heavy and diversified caseload for clients in Indiana
• Communicate with clients regarding their respective matters
• Draft pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda; review and draft agreements
• Communicate with opposing parties to resolve and/or settle claims
• Conduct legal research related to simple and complex issues in contract law and other areas of consumer law
• Communicate with the main office via telephone and electronic means (e-mail, Microsoft Teams, etc.)
• While based from home, may be required to travel for in-court appearances

Requirements

• Currently admitted to practice law in Indiana
• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience at a law firm
• Superior organizational and time-management skills to meet strict deadlines
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills
• Highest ethical standards and professional integrity
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with senior management and employees at all levels

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong legal research skills; proficiency in LexisNexis is a plus
