Overview

This role is an Associate Attorney position for the organization’s Pennsylvania practice, focused on Creditor’s Rights. Licensure is required with admission to the Pennsylvania State Bar. This is a state-level attorney position involving attending court, signing pleadings, settling cases, and performing other attorney tasks as assigned.

The position is fully remote and includes work-related travel.

Responsibilities

  • Review correspondence and files to determine appropriate next steps.
  • Review answers; prepare discovery and dispositive motions.
  • Handle all aspects of preparing for and conducting trials.
  • Attend court hearings when required.
  • Represent clients in pre-suit and post-judgment matters.
  • Provide analysis and advice on legal and regulatory risks.
  • Manage a caseload independently.
  • Develop litigation strategies that adhere to state and federal rules and regulations and compliance standards.
  • Stay current on changes in state or local consumer laws.

Requirements

  • Admission to the Pennsylvania State Bar (licensure required).
  • Background in civil litigation and experience attending court proceedings.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws; ability to analyze case law and provide recommendations.
  • Ability to draft legal pleadings, motions, discovery, stipulations, and other legal documents.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize high volumes of information.
  • Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels.
  • Energy, self-direction, and ability to manage an individual caseload.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Bankruptcy Law, Foreclosure Law, or the FDCPA/FCRA/TCPA.
  • Experience in collection law and/or significant courtroom experience.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Frequently required to talk or hear; use hands to type, handle, or touch objects.
  • Regularly required to stand and walk; may be required to stop, bend, or reach above the shoulders.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.

Work Environment & Schedule

  • Fully remote.
  • Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, with flexibility to meet business needs.
