Overview
A highly respected law firm client is seeking an experienced Bankruptcy and Restructuring Attorney for a flexible, remote contract engagement. This role involves supporting complex Chapter 11 proceedings and related insolvency matters, working with debtors, creditors, lenders, trustees, committees, and other stakeholders in financially distressed situations.
Responsibilities
- Draft pleadings and motions related to bankruptcy cases
- Conduct legal research on bankruptcy and restructuring issues
- Assist with case strategy development
- Support bankruptcy litigation and restructuring transactions
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of dedicated bankruptcy and restructuring experience in a law firm setting
- Substantial experience with Chapter 11 proceedings, including 363 sales and Plans of Reorganization
- Familiarity with the Bankruptcy Code and ability to quickly analyze applicable local bankruptcy rules
- Experience with bankruptcy litigation, including preference and fraudulent transfer actions
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
- Active bar license in good standing
- Outstanding professional references
Position Details
- Role type: Contract engagement (2-3 months or more)
- Schedule: Estimated 30–40 hours per week
- Location: Fully remote within the United States
Compensation & Benefits
- Annualized pay range (full-time equivalent): $170,000 to $200,000
- Pay for contract engagements is based on factors including experience, qualifications, credentials, location, market supply/demand, and candidate preference
