Bilingual Staff Attorney

Overview

A humanitarian immigration law firm established in 2020 is seeking a Staff Attorney to join their team. The firm focuses on providing legal support to individuals and families seeking safety and stability, often assisting clients who have been turned away elsewhere. This role involves helping clients navigate the immigration process with compassion and clarity.

Responsibilities

• Conduct client calls to answer legal questions and provide updates on immigration cases within established guidelines
• Explain legal processes and next steps to clients clearly and professionally
• Review draft immigration applications following instructions from Senior Attorneys
• Identify, track, and make necessary edits before submission
• Communicate clearly with team members regarding edits
• Meet daily goals related to case reviews and client calls
• Perform legal research on immigration law topics

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA-approved law school
• Active membership in good standing with a state bar
• Fluency in both English and Spanish (written and spoken) is required
• Ability to follow detailed instructions
• Experience with case management software preferred
• Interest in immigration law preferred
• Proficient computer skills including MS Word, MS Excel, Dropbox, and MS Outlook

Work Schedule

• Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $65,000 to $69,750 annually (final offer depends on experience, skills, and location)
