Claims Consultant - Attorney Protective

Overview

This role supports the management of claims and litigation brought against policyholders. Responsibilities include confirming coverage, resolving coverage issues, coordinating legal counsel, and managing litigation activity and associated costs.

Responsibilities

• Confirm coverage and then manage claims and suits brought against policyholders
• Interpret, analyze, and resolve coverage issues
• Appoint legal counsel
• Manage litigation with outside counsel
• Manage litigation costs
• Maintain appropriate reserves
• Resolve cases through settlement negotiations, dismissal, or trial
• Provide service to underwriters; assist where possible in sales and retention efforts of the sales force
• Perform other activities required of a front line claims professional

Requirements

• J.D. preferred; may consider a Bachelor’s degree with equivalent experience
• Minimum of five years of claim experience with lawyer’s professional liability (LPL) claims
• Familiarity with personal injury/bodily injury, trusts and estates, and real estate claims
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong organization and time management

Compensation & Benefits

• Annual gross base salary range: $80,000 to $150,000
