Commercial Attorney (Education/SLED Experience)

Overview

An edtech company is seeking an experienced Commercial Attorney to support their legal team with overflow work. This role primarily involves handling a high volume of enterprise agreements for school districts, with a goal of closing agreements with 200 districts, including several high-priority ones. The position requires comfort working in a fast-paced environment, strong knowledge of enterprise sales agreements, and the ability to prioritize and manage workload effectively.

A background in privacy law is essential due to the nature of the agreements, which include NDPA redlines with school districts. Experience in contract customization is highly desirable. Additional experience in adtech, State, Local, Education, and District (SLED) sectors, or government contracting is a plus.

The role requires collaboration with the sales team to maintain project momentum. Strong communication skills and a client-friendly, approachable style are important for success.

Responsibilities

• Manage and negotiate a high volume of enterprise agreements with school districts
• Focus on closing agreements with approximately 200 districts, prioritizing key accounts
• Review and redline NDPA agreements with attention to privacy considerations
• Customize contracts as needed to meet client and district requirements
• Collaborate closely with the sales team to ensure smooth project progression
• Prioritize workload effectively in a fast-paced environment

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Commercial Attorney handling enterprise sales agreements
• Strong understanding of privacy law relevant to educational agreements
• Experience with contract customization and negotiation
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume setting
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in adtech, SLED, or government contracting
• Experience working with school districts or educational institutions

Compensation & Benefits

• Hourly rate: $103 to $106, commensurate with qualifications and experience
• Part-time, 20-30 hours per week
• Fully remote work
• Assignment duration: 3 months
