Overview

This role is responsible for building and owning key commercial legal functions in support of enterprise growth, including end-to-end management of contracting workflows and the creation of scalable legal templates, playbooks, and processes. As the first in-house legal hire, you will partner closely with the GTM team and increasingly serve as the primary internal resource for legal questions.

Responsibilities

  • Own commercial contracting end-to-end, including:
    • Master Service Agreements (MSAs)
    • Order Forms
    • Data Processing Agreements (DPAs)
    • Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs)
    • Vendor and partnership agreements
  • Partner with GTM to negotiate and complete complex enterprise deals while balancing risk, speed, and commercial realities
  • Build and maintain templates, playbooks, workflows, and automations to support scale
  • Support broader legal matters across privacy, product, data, employment, corporate, insurance, compliance, IP, and disputes; bring in specialists when needed
  • Take increasing ownership of the legal function as the organization grows
  • Draft, redline, negotiate, and advise the business on legal issues; work hands-on rather than primarily managing outside counsel

Requirements

  • 4–8 years of legal experience, ideally combining strong law firm training with in-house experience at a high-growth technology company, with a focus on commercial contracting
  • JD from an accredited law school
  • Active license to practice law in the US
  • Significant experience independently negotiating complex enterprise technology, SaaS, and data agreements
  • Excellent legal and commercial judgment, including knowing what matters, what does not, and when to escalate
  • Ability to communicate complex legal issues clearly with practical, actionable recommendations
  • Comfortable representing the organization in front of customers and negotiating with customer legal and procurement teams
  • Ability to thrive with ownership and ambiguity and to build systems rather than waiting for established processes
  • Interest in using AI and automation to build a modern legal function

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with privacy/data/product counseling
  • Experience with legal ops and automation
  • Experience handling broader matters across employment, corporate, insurance, compliance, and IP

Compensation & Benefits

  • Unlimited PTO
  • Minimum 20-day vacation policy
