Commercial Litigation Associate

Overview

The organization has an immediate opening in its virtual office (“The Link”) for a Commercial Litigation Associate.

This position is primarily supported by attorneys in the Technology, Manufacturing, & Transportation business unit.

Responsibilities

• Handle all phases of complex commercial litigation, including:
  • Conducting factual investigations
  • Managing discovery
  • Preparing pleadings and motions
  • Taking and defending depositions
  • Participating in settlement negotiations
  • Communicating with clients
• Support labor & employment litigation matters (preferred), including the ability to handle depositions and manage cases with a high degree of autonomy.
• Demonstrate strong judgment and the ability to manage multiple projects.
• Articulate legal strategies and courses of action.

Requirements

• Four to six years of commercial litigation experience preferred
• Thrive in demanding, high-pressure work environments and genuinely enjoy litigation
• Excellent academic credentials
• Superior interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure
• Commitment to the community

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in labor & employment litigation matters
• Active bar license in both Michigan and Ohio (preferred)

Qualifications (Licensure & Residency)

• Candidates should reside in Michigan or Ohio
• Must have an active bar license corresponding to the state in which they reside
