Commercial Title Officer (remote)

Overview

This role supports commercial real estate title insurance protection and settlement services for real estate purchases, refinances, and equity loans. Using strong research skills and knowledge of commercial title work, you will perform and review title searches, analyze records, coordinate resolution of the commercial title process, and help ensure key transaction information is accurate and complete.

Responsibilities

• Perform or review complete title searches for commercial transactions, depending on locality and corporate standards
• Analyze records such as liens, judgments, easements, vital statistics, and property survey to determine ownership and legal restrictions
• Verify legal description of property and completeness of records
• Properly price commitments, endorsements, policies, and guarantees using the appropriate schedule of fees and charges
• Review and approve documentation including deeds, operating agreements, and corporate resolutions
• Select appropriate write-ups for commitments and policies for both standard and extended coverage
• In some regions/locations, consult with attorneys to review search packages and on matters that require escalation

Requirements

• National Commercial experience required
• 3–5 years of commercial title-related experience
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Excellent verbal and written communication with internal and external customers
• Proven problem-solving skills with eagerness to learn and share
• Ability to navigate internal and external resources to gather information and resolve questions
• Strong research skills and interest in analyzing transaction history and background
• Comfortable collaborating in a team environment and guiding others as they grow
• Knowledge of the MS Office suite and ability to adapt to new software applications and technologies
• Flexible and able to multi-task across all aspects of title support
• Passion for helping customers while maintaining a professional and positive attitude

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay Range: $30.91 - $41.20 Hourly
• Remote (based on eligibility)
