Overview

This role supports contract delivery by serving as the first-line reviewer for contracts, amendments, and related documents. Responsibilities include risk screening, coordinating redlines and approvals, maintaining a central Contracts Database, owning contract templates and their change process, and partnering with internal stakeholders across Sales, Finance, consultants, leadership, Biz Ops, and Legal.

Responsibilities

Contract Review and Risk Screening

  • Act as the first-line reviewer for contracts, amendments, and RFPs from Sales and internal teams, including client, partner, vendor, and IT agreements.
  • Identify terms that carry real risk, explain potential cost impact, and recommend responses, including redlines within standard positions.
  • Coordinate redlines and approvals between Sales and leadership, and escalate terms outside standard positions so each contract has a clear status and next step.
  • Support internal teams with risk questions related to software and IT agreements and client security questionnaires.
  • Own insurance requirements in contracts:
    • Serve as the first stop for internal insurance questions
    • Coordinate annual insurance renewal with the broker
    • Back up the Biz Ops Coordinator for certificate of insurance (COI) requests.

Contracts Database and Lifecycle

  • Build and maintain the central Contracts Database; a contract is not considered complete until stored with key dates, terms, and obligations.
  • Keep database data accurate and complete:
    • Regularly check entries
    • Fix errors at the source
    • Document how entries are made so teammates can add information correctly.
  • Record renewal, notice, and termination terms when contracts are stored so Sales—who own renewals—know the terms, contract paper type, and whether anything new must be put in place.
  • Own the termination process:
    • When Directors or Sales decide to end an agreement, review the contract if its terms are not already in the database
    • Define how it gets terminated
    • Hold the team accountable for required steps.
  • Expand what the database captures over time so the team can answer questions about terms and obligations without reopening contracts, and so leadership can view risk in aggregate across contracts.

Templates

  • Own contract templates:
    • Decide what goes into templates
    • Obtain Legal team feedback
    • Update templates once changes are approved.
  • Maintain the template change request process so each request has a clear answer and a visible status for the requester.
  • Ensure only one current version of each template is used and that outdated copies are not in use.
  • Work with Sales to help them understand which terms carry little risk and can be adjusted versus which terms pose operational or business risk and require review.
  • Identify template gaps and ensure they are addressed.

Requirements

Ideal Background (Should Have)

  • Hands-on experience reviewing professional services agreements such as MSAs, SOWs, and change orders, ideally in a consulting or implementation environment.
  • Working knowledge of common risk terms including indemnification, limitation of liability, SLAs, data and privacy, and insurance requirements.
  • Experience building or maintaining a contract repository or tracker and keeping it accurate over time.
  • Experience taking template or process changes through to adoption across teams that do not report to you.
  • A calculated approach to risk: assess, recommend a response, and help decision-makers weigh risk against deal value rather than treating risk as something to avoid or forwarding every contract to counsel.
  • Experience working with an outside law firm or in-house counsel.
  • Comfort working in lower-tech setups (SharePoint, spreadsheets, Salesforce), not only e-signature platforms, and willingness to embrace new tools such as AI.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with public sector contracts and RFPs.
  • Experience with prime agreements and terms that flow down from them, such as procurement codes and subcontracting commitments (construction experience is a plus).
  • Experience with client security questionnaires.
  • Experience reviewing software, IT, and vendor agreements.
  • Experience reviewing international contracts.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive compensation
  • Health insurance
  • 401k with employer match
  • Flexible PTO
  • Remote work
  • Philanthropic Matching Gift Program
  • And more
