Overview
A Fortune 100 company is seeking an experienced trade lawyer with 5+ years of experience to support their team on an ongoing engagement. The role focuses on customs and import operations, providing legal guidance and compliance support.
Responsibilities
- Advise on U.S. and international customs and import regulations, including classification, country of origin, and valuation
- Provide practical, business-oriented guidance on trade compliance and import operations
- Support internal stakeholders with day-to-day customs matters and issue resolution
- Assist with compliance strategies, risk assessment, and process improvements related to import activities
- Export experience is a plus
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of legal experience, preferably in trade law
- Availability for at least 20 hours per week, with potential for full-time commitment
- Ability to work remotely
- Willingness to be employed (W-2) by a workforce solutions company for the duration of the engagement
Compensation & Schedule
- Remote position
- Full-time or part-time schedule, flexible based on candidate availability
- Ongoing engagement
- Compensation up to $4,000 per week based on a 40-hour workweek; rate is flexible depending on experience
