Employment Attorney (Life & Sciences Experience)

Overview

This role supports a growing, multi-state cannabis organization in connection with a new acquisition. The organization is seeking an experienced employment attorney to advise on employment and HR matters arising from the transition.

The ideal candidate is comfortable working in a highly regulated environment and can navigate the added complexity that comes with operating in such conditions.

Start & engagement details

• Target start: ASAP
• Hours: 20 hours per week
• Remote: Fully remote
• Estimated duration: 1–2 months

Responsibilities

• Advise on employment and HR matters related to the acquisition transition
• Support employee onboarding
• Review and advise on offer letters and equity grants
• Advise on employee benefits
• Support payroll and other compensation-related issues

Requirements

• Employment attorney experience supporting employment and HR matters
• Experience working in a highly regulated industry (e.g., life sciences) is preferred/desired
• Ability to navigate regulatory complexity in a highly regulated operating environment

Compensation & Benefits

• Hourly rate: expected to be between $100 and $120
• The hourly range is an estimate; compensation will be based on qualifications, skillset, relevant experience, client needs, project requirements, and other considerations permitted by law.
