  • Set strategic direction for global employment law matters for a fully distributed workforce across 40+ countries; provide oversight on employment disputes, investigations, and outside counsel.
  • Lead corporate governance globally, serve as corporate secretary to the Board, manage corporate recordkeeping and subsidiary compliance.

  • Deep expertise in AI and product law, commercial transactions, data privacy, M&A, and corporate governance.
  • Proven ability to advise on cutting-edge technology in a rapidly evolving regulatory environment and make judgment calls without precedent.
  • Experience building and leading legal teams in fast-paced, asynchronous environments; strong hiring, development, and team culture skills.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and building new frameworks, playbooks, and risk management approaches in a constantly shipping company.
  • Business-enabling mindset with ability to find paths to "yes" while clearly communicating risks; experience advising boards, executive teams, and cross-functional partners on strategic decisions.
  • Clear and direct communication skills, able to distill complex legal issues into plain language.
  • Genuine, empathetic, humble, and mission-driven team player.
  • Ability to balance hands-on work, delegation, and engaging outside experts as needed.

AI Fluency Expectations

  • Demonstrated fluency with AI as a force multiplier for legal teams, actively exploring AI's impact on legal work scope and speed.
  • Developed a vision for an AI-native legal function, understanding how AI reshapes legal operations, risk management, and the General Counsel role.
