Overview

A healthcare industry leader is seeking a General Counsel specializing in Commercial Litigation to join their team. This role supports critical business initiatives by providing legal expertise, managing disputes, and collaborating across departments to drive strategic and operational success. The position offers the opportunity to influence both high-level strategy and daily legal execution in a dynamic environment.

Location: Remote (U.S. based candidates only; no visa sponsorship available)

Compensation: $160,000 – $200,000 annually

Responsibilities

  • Provide legal advice to facility clients involved in pre-litigation disputes
  • Manage and negotiate disputes related to contracts and commercial matters
  • Retain and oversee external counsel for litigation cases
  • Review and prepare responses to third-party subpoenas
  • Collaborate with facility management and legal teams on complex disputes
  • Identify legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate them
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Active license to practice law in good standing with the relevant State Bar
  • 5-10 years of experience in business and commercial real estate litigation
  • Strong analytical, research, and legal writing skills
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively and negotiate dispute resolutions

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Experience handling complex commercial disputes
  • Knowledge of compliance regulations and risk management strategies
  • Proficiency with legal research databases such as Westlaw or LexisNexis
  • Familiarity with project management software (e.g., Asana, Trello) for managing litigation timelines and external counsel coordination
  • Experience using communication tools like Microsoft Teams or Zoom for remote collaboration
  • Experience with contract management systems (e.g., ContractWorks, DocuSign) for reviewing and managing contract disputes
