General Liability Associate Attorney

Overview

A national defense law firm is seeking an Attorney licensed in New Mexico with 3-10 years of experience specializing in General Liability defense. The role involves defending clients against a variety of General Liability claims, managing cases through all stages of litigation, and advocating vigorously in court.

Responsibilities

• Review and prepare summaries of medical records to support client advocacy
• Draft motions and attend hearings to represent clients
• Prepare clients for depositions and attend depositions as necessary
• Draft initial, interim, pre-trial, trial, and appellate reports
• Respond to discovery requests and draft discovery-related motions
• Regularly attend court appearances
• Take and defend depositions of fact and expert witnesses

Requirements

• Admission to practice law in New Mexico
• 3-10 years of experience in General Liability defense
• Ability to work efficiently in a remote setting
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent research, written, and oral communication abilities
• Experience drafting and responding to discovery motions
• Experience taking and defending depositions
• Experience drafting motions for summary judgment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with employers, carriers, third-party administrators, and self-insured clients
• Proven track record of managing cases from initial claims through mediation, arbitration, trial, and appeal
