Insurance Defense Attorney (Remote)

Overview

A national defense law firm is seeking Michigan-licensed attorneys with 3-5 years of experience specializing in Auto Negligence and General Liability defense to join their Farmington Hills, Michigan office. This role involves defending against all types of general liability claims, including auto negligence, with a focus on moving cases efficiently through the legal system and vigorously defending clients’ interests in court.

Responsibilities

• Review and prepare summaries of medical records to support client advocacy.
• Draft motions and attend hearings to represent clients in court.
• Prepare clients for depositions and attend depositions as necessary.
• Draft initial, interim, pre-trial, trial, and appellate reports.
• Respond to discovery requests and draft discovery-related motions.
• Regularly attend court appearances to pursue favorable outcomes.
• Take and defend depositions of fact and expert witnesses.

Requirements

• Admission to practice law in Michigan.
• 3-5 years of experience in Auto Negligence and General Liability defense.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent research abilities.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Experience drafting and responding to discovery-related motions.
• Experience drafting motions for summary judgment.
• Willingness to regularly attend court and participate in depositions.
