Lawyer – Remote (US)

Overview

This is a fully remote contractor role open to candidates based in the United States. The employer is seeking experienced U.S.-licensed Lawyers across a wide range of legal practice areas to contribute to a project focused on improving AI systems’ legal reasoning, accuracy, and judgment.

Pay: $100–$170/hr

Responsibilities

• Analyze legal scenarios involving litigation, corporate transactions, and regulatory or compliance matters to identify key legal issues, risks, and relevant legal principles.
• Review and evaluate AI-generated legal analyses, arguments, contracts, and other legal documents for accuracy, completeness, and sound reasoning.
• Identify legal errors, unsupported conclusions, missing information, and weaknesses in legal reasoning.
• Apply professional legal judgment to complex or ambiguous situations, considering relevant laws, facts, and competing interpretations.
• Provide clear, structured feedback and corrections to improve the quality and reliability of AI-generated legal outputs.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from a U.S. law school.
• Active bar license in at least one U.S. state or the District of Columbia.
• More than 3 years of substantive post-J.D. legal practice.**
• Strong legal reasoning, issue-spotting, legal writing, and document review skills.
• Excellent written English communication and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently in a remote contractor environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in any legal practice area, including litigation, corporate, commercial, employment, personal injury, criminal, family, immigration, insurance, intellectual property, healthcare, securities, real estate, tax, privacy, environmental, or regulatory law.
• Experience reviewing complex legal documents, identifying substantive errors, or evaluating competing legal arguments.
• Familiarity with legal technology, AI-assisted research, or AI evaluation (a plus, but not required).
