Legal Consultant / Negotiator - UMR (Derivatives)

Overview

A global legal services provider is seeking a Legal Consultant / Negotiator specializing in UMR (Uncleared Margin Rules) for a long-term engagement with a Global 500 client in the financial services sector.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate and review UMR-related trading documents and other derivative documentation.
• Ensure that agreed terms comply with regulatory UMR requirements and internal risk/collateral policies.
• Accurately capture margin, collateral, and segregation terms in documentation.

Requirements

• Experience negotiating derivatives and ISDA documentation, with specific expertise in UMR-related margin and collateral terms.
• Strong understanding of OTC derivatives, margin, collateral concepts, and UMR regulations.
• Approximately 2 years post-qualification experience (PQE) or more, or equivalent experience as a negotiator within the financial services sector or a law firm.
