This role involves joining the CalendarRules team as a Legal Content Analyst.

The position is available to candidates in the US Remote.

CalendarRules helps legal professionals manage critical deadlines by translating court rules and procedures into automated calendaring logic. Rule sets currently cover state and federal courts in the United States and Canada, and new rule sets are regularly added.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain rule sets by researching and analyzing applicable state, federal, and agency statutes, rules, local rules, and standing orders, and translating legal requirements into structured triggers, deadlines, and calculation logic for calendaring software.
  • Manage rule updates by monitoring amendments and legal developments, determining impact on existing content, implementing necessary changes, and drafting clear update notes.
  • Provide customer support through email, Zoom, and other communication channels by investigating rules-related questions and calculation results, explaining applicable calendaring logic, and escalating complex issues as needed.
  • Deliver customer and partner training on litigation calendaring protocols and legal content, including "train the trainer" programs for integration partners.
  • Conduct rule set audits and peer reviews to ensure legal accuracy, consistency, completeness, and compliance with established content standards.
  • Develop and deliver presentations and written content (e.g., newsletter articles) on legal content and litigation calendaring topics, including participation in customer trainings, conferences, and webinars.
  • Use sound legal judgment when handling ambiguous, conflicting, or interrelated procedural authorities, including determining when a requirement can be translated into automated calendaring logic.
  • Make day-to-day decisions regarding rule set structure, triggers, deadlines, and calculation logic within established standards, protocols, and precedent.
  • Independently research and resolve routine customer questions involving rules and calculation results, escalating novel, high-risk, or complex issues as appropriate.
  • Identify potential content gaps, conflicts, and calculation risks and recommend appropriate resolutions.
  • Operate with moderate autonomy while seeking guidance on high-impact, complicated, or novel analyses.

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice law in the United States
  • 3+ years litigation experience
  • Knowledge of how to find and calculate legal deadlines
  • Familiarity with the U.S. legal system
  • Strong legal research and analytical skills, including the ability to evaluate state and federal statutes, procedural rules, local rules, agency rules, and standing orders
  • Ability to translate complex legal requirements into clear, standardized, structured content suitable for automated litigation calendaring
  • Ability to apply procedural knowledge to draft precise triggers, deadlines, and calculation logic, including service methods, time-computation rules, court holidays, and related procedural requirements
  • Proficiency in monitoring rule changes across jurisdictions, assessing impact on existing content, and implementing accurate and timely revisions
  • Strong writing and editing skills, including the ability to explain complex procedures clearly to both legal and non-legal audiences
  • Exceptional attention to detail when building, auditing, and peer-reviewing rule sets for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and compliance with content standards
  • Comfort with AI and emerging technologies, using them to support legal research, analysis, customer support, and workflow efficiency while independently evaluating outputs and applying legal judgment to ensure accuracy and quality
