Legal Counsel - Product & Regulatory

Overview

This role involves serving as Legal Counsel within a dynamic fintech environment focused on digital asset regulation and financial services. The position centers on driving legal strategy, managing commercial development, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting new product and business model establishment, with a particular emphasis on scaling a B2B2C solution.

Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and independently negotiate complex commercial agreements, including B2B client contracts, enterprise partnerships, SaaS agreements, and service level agreements (SLAs).
• Lead regulatory work streams and structural product design related to financial services regulation such as MiCAR, MiFID II, and capital markets law to support retail and B2B product expansions.
• Provide comprehensive legal guidance on initiatives including token projects, structured financial instruments, strategic corporate partnerships, marketing compliance, and dispute resolution.
• Monitor, analyze, and assess regulatory developments impacting the business, translating legal frameworks into actionable strategies and mitigation plans.
• Collaborate as a trusted legal advisor with cross-functional leadership teams including Corporate Partnerships, Product, Compliance, Marketing, and Operations to ensure alignment with corporate goals and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• Law degree from an Austrian, German, or Swiss university with advanced focus on corporate law, commercial law, or financial regulation (including MiFID II and crypto-asset regulation).
• 2–4 years of professional experience in an international law firm or in-house legal department, preferably within fintech, financial services, or traditional banking.
• Proven experience handling B2B/Enterprise commercial transactions, corporate partnerships, and complex institutional client requirements.
• Strong understanding of fintech, digital assets, and financial markets, with ability to navigate evolving regulatory frameworks.
• Full professional proficiency in German and English, both written and spoken.

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated passion for fintech and digital asset sectors.
• Experience with regulatory frameworks such as MiCAR and capital markets law.
